Hi, I'm Alex - the junior marketer with a nick for design, data and tech
I'm a junior digital marketer based in Amsterdam with an ambitious plan: deliver marketing campaigns that have purpose, with clockwork-like performance. To do this, I'm combining creative strategy, technical skills, and data analytics to solve problems that traditionally require entire teams.
What started as a curiosity about why some campaigns succeed while others fail has evolved into something more - an Alice in Wonderland-like curiosity that dives deep down the rabbit hole of 'what works,' 'why does it work,' and 'how can we replicate it'. The goal: marketing that humans love, and answers managers need.
Simply put: I turn data into creative campaigns - and creative ideas into measurable results.

Marketing-first mindset
Mixing analytical & technical thinking for the next-gen marketing 4.0
During my journey as a student and beginner marketer, I observed marketing teams often had to deal with complex problems - requiring a mix of creative and technical skills. Most often than not, they tended to have a deficiency in one of these areas. The solutions were improvised, quick fixes, time- and resource-consuming. There had to be a better way.
Having a passion for coding and complex challenges since highschool, I set myself a goal in 2022: to develop the skillset similar to that of a Growth Hacker that understands and uses both creativity and tech skills to overcome challenges. The reason was simple: to be able to tackle any issues in a more efficiently, achieving better results and higher growth.
My plan was divided in the three large skill areas I would have to master:
- Marketing Strategy, Management & Branding - provided by most Bachelor's level marketing courses
- Digital Marketing Stack - these aspects, largely learnable through online courses, were gained in 2021, and later applied and refined through the professional experiences. Includes skills such as SEA, Social Media Marketing and Content Marketing.
- Technical Marketing Stack - largely unprovided by Business Administration bachelor's degrees, but offered by IU University of Applied Sciences and easily learnable through online learning platforms. Includes subjects such as data science & analysis, coding, marketing mix modeling, CRM software and martech.
This ambitious plan's goal: master these skills by 2025.

Created Growly with a few friends, mixing our skills in Marketing, Web Dev, Branding and Copywriting to have a modern, state-of-the-art digital agency for SMEs in Bucharest with high-quality services and fair pricing.
Through Growly, I refined my stakeholder communication abilities, learned to use HubSpot, Google Analytics, Facebook Ads and Google Ads.
Used Tableau and started exploring Data Science and Attribution Models to help clients understand the impact of our services on their businesses and revenues.
Moved on from Growly to fully focus on my academic and professional goals.
Learned Growth Hacking from the course materials of the masters degree with the same name provided by IU.
Started learning Data Science and AI in Marketing and Supply Chain from other course materials provided in two other IU's masters.

How I work
Problem Solving Process.
Structured series of steps through which I approach marketing challenges regardless of their nature - from investigation to solving and stakeholder communication
1. Investigation
The goal is to identify the underlying challenge and the affected KPIs and business goals. Gathering insights, state-of-the-art solutions, specifications and necessities.
2. Planning
Finding the best solution, combining creativity and technical thinking. Establishing the skillset needed to solve it - creative and/or technical. Creating project plan, deliverables, and project control measures.
3. Execution
Ideas are translated into tangible concepts which align with the business goals and KPIs. Testing, progress communication and feedback is asked from stakeholders at the end of every predetermined period.
4. Control & Feedback
The project is launched and running. KPIs and other control measures are implemented and frequently reviewed. Handover to the relevant stakeholders with documentation and, if needed, updates based on feedback.
